Wall Clock Farewell

The old green clock No longer ticks or tocks Into the closet it went No hour hand or minute hand bent Bought when you were only five Upon the wall it hung There each day as you left for school It saw the man you have become The motor just died you see Losing minutes day by day Until finally six hours behind I let is have its say Now in the closet it sits I am unable to toss it away The tick tock of a lifetime Was heard for the last time today.
