Walking Upside-Down
As a small child, with ideas wild,
I rocked whims softly, and let them fly.
One whim, however, I nurtured tender and
Let it grow as tall as pines. I nurtured it by practicing
Too often that head might whirl from recollection now.
The world was upside down. A new sphere of knowledge in
My narrow scope of existence like a thousand mirrors combined.
My fellow creatures are walking, as I turn to greet them, as I gently stride.
Then run in a circle around and around, calling something to the passerby.
The world in a haze, my thoughts in a maze. I jump down the stairs in an upside down race.
Away and away to the sunniest May.
My thoughts are astray…
The world is upside down…Enjoyment’s hour has prepared
Pleasures that I shall delve in for more than a day. Away now,
I cannot wait to play now. Away!
