Walking In the Snow

Having a break away in Scotland's north
in the early weeks of new year
enjoying company of renewed friendship
among the hills and mountains so clear

After breakfast a few of us decided
to enjoy an early morning walk
climbing up an ascending hill nearby
one that's named by all locally as Knock

The ground was covered by lovely snow
that came during the night
such a picture to look out on
so sparkling a view gloriously bright

Off we trampled along the pathway
enjoying the views all around
passing by cottages covered in white
listening to birds tuneful in sound

The snow came down heavier spots
as we walked feeling it so full
becoming a blizzard like in effect
looking as snowmen crystal clear cool

Turn around to return to hotel
the snow not letting up at all
back at our base we returned
slipping and sliding but not to fall!
