Walking Distance

In the early gray dawn Of phosphorescent madness Let's get married! The church is steps From the playground I'll kiss you with my beads Around our necks. We will be bounded By plastic, colorful love. We are two 6-year-old boys And we don't give a hoot Over why the sun is so bright. The next thought in our head Arrives from the brilliant green trees High, high overhead.
