Walking
searching in the desert, not sure just where I am
I've been walking here for years and I don't know where I began
I'd like a sip of water but it just keeps slipping through my hand
catching a drip here and there the rest dissoving in the sand
mirages come to trick, like I have found a slight retreat
from this unforgiving world, from this unforgiving heat
but I just continue walking, I will not accept defeat
until I can no longer keep going I will not let myself be beat
I see the people that I love appear and fade away
the sun blinding my vision I see everything in gray
I ask them to take me with them but they tell me I must stay
so still I continue walking praying I live another day
suddenly a shadow, I see a cloud in the clear sky
I don't know where it came from but I do not dare ask why
it darkens everything around me, as I billow out a cry
then the rain begins to pour, my savior falling from the sky.
...saved without a warning as I tell this hell goodbye.
