Walk The Tightrope

For
a girl
with shy smile,
bit assertive,
sweet tooth, talkative,
foolishly true-speak rude,
learning to be gracious kid
polite and well-mannered quickly
evolving to responsible teen
with changing family was tightrope walk.
'Walk the tightrope again' said the tough fate
so as adult balancing fears, tears,
terrified of making mistakes,
choices in the heart of hearts,
learnt to be polite, I
carry on tight-lipped
along ebb tide
of precious
divine
Life.

The naivety of childhood and the realities of growing up. As Evelyn stated, life is a balancing act for sure. I like this quote from UK actor Simon Pegg: “ Ultimately, we are all products of the experiences we have and the decisions we make as children, and it remains a peculiar detail of human condition that something as precious as the future is entrusted to us when we possess so little foresight. Perhaps that's what makes hindsight so intriguing.” Cheers - Gary

I am grateful to you for your visit dear poet. Interesting quote made me search for it. Every other life has normal life cycle, except that of a human. Roller coaster of emotions from cradle to grave. Perplexing. I am so glad by your visit dear poet. Thank for this day's joy. Cheers.

Keep your eyes forward and don't look down. You are doing great. Just as your poem suggests. This poem reminds of a movie I saw about a famous tightrope walker. Oh my gosh. He walked between two high buildings in NYC and could easily have fallen to his death. I was. On the edge of my seat.
