Walk That Mile
To say I love you seems so trite.
I love you, this I know for sure.
In the beginning we felt right.
My love began strong and pure.
For a time I could see your feelings grow.
I believed we had a chance at bliss.
We shared dreams, had a natural flow.
It started for me before our first kiss.
I have tried to be rid of the love I feel.
Yet despite ugly yesterday's and
an uncertain tomorrow.
When I say I love you know it's real.
A love that reeks of joy, free of sorrow.
I am the one who can walk that mile.
Who can lift you up and raise your spirit high.
To laugh, dance, sing, create smiles.
Real, complete, accepting, a life free of lies.
