Walk Dog
Black eyes hang underneath fur covered eyebrows,
Staring back at the manicure that restricts freedom
Six feet of silence between them.
Pink leather wraps around it’s fatty neck,
Overgrown nails tip toe on the gum plastered sidewalk
A curved tail smacks the air around from side to side
Tan fur rises as summer’s breeze dances around
And strangers with changing masks bend their knees to feel a wiry back.
Squirrel tails,
I see three squirrel tails!
perched in the air while toes stand on the bark of the evergreen tree between the bushes near the sweet smelling flowers and allowing cars to play God.
I want the tails,
Kibble is dry
I need the tail, I need the tail I’m going to get the ta-
Ouch!
Human yanks my neck up and there are
Bird feathers,
I need bird feathers, bird feathers
