Walk Along the Shore

The moon shone down upon us
where the ocean met the shore.
As we laid there on the sand
and dreamt of what's in store.

Gently blew the ocean breeze
that coolly kissed your cheek.
A chill ran through your body,
so I helped you to your feet.

I put my arms around you
in a strong and warm embrace;
then gently brushed aside the hair
which had blown into your face.

In your eyes there was a longing
to feel your lover's touch.
I kissed your neck and whispered,
I love you, oh so much.

We walked along the shore
as waves came crashing in.
While softly glowed the moonlight
on your lovely dark skin.

We paused for just a moment
to watch this peaceful scene.
Then you softly whispered,
is this really just a dream?

Awakened from my slumber
in this cold and lonely place
I close my eyes again
so that I may see your face.

Once again, thank you. Poetry is about sharing what is in one's heart, and that has never been more true than the feelings in this poem.
