Waking up to the Grinch

I woke up in the middle of the night Hoping Santa Claus might be in sight I know my parents thought I was in bed so tight But I heard a thump and I saw a light Crept down to the living room where things were bright A hairy green thing was halfway in my vision, my sight I screamed when I saw that it was the Grinch, a blight He laughed his head off and gave me a cookie that night
