Waking
The sparrow clutches the worm
Firmly
And sings the morning
To waking
And I hold firm to my faith
That I shall not die again
Not after the drums
Have warmed my heart
The sun filters into my hut
And pierces the sleepy head
With sudden mystery
A mysterious fortune- a new day!
So I awaken
And reach for the nectar
That was the unbroken dreams
Of last night.
