Wake Up

She waits so eagerly to wake from this dream
Where darkness has muffled her silent screams
Her mind’s eye once so innocent and pure
Opened to reality, she’s lost and insecure

She desperately seeks relief from the pain
Wishing every effort to not be in vain
She wakes in the middle of the night to let a cry
Her eyes no longer glistens, forces a smile

Yearning everyday to know where it went wrong
Her universe cradles her in the saddest song
She seeks answers everyday where she is to go
To find solace after life’s everyday blow

Although uncertain of the path she has taken
She knows from this nightmare she’ll awaken
Dark clouds will no longer cast shadows in her mind
The answers she has searched for she will find
