Wake

Yawning eyes, a window to my soul
Breathless whys, that follow into my eye-hole
Gradually fading into the mirror
Hurried air lifted me nearer
There I soar over a continuum of water
Dovetailed and coupled by a cotter
Lights are picture still
Appearance is resolved and real
A mirage flickers beneath
Temptation's will to bequeath,
Exploration, for Curiosity to delve underneath
Self-will...calm body of water fractured
Knowledge stripped from ology raptured
Black space consumed by prismed light pastured
Reflecting off water droplets like chandeliers
Insincere fears no more echo in the valley of my ears

Candid myopia, a marvel gaseous heat
Nearly utopia, a row hung shy of a hurled skeet
So massive I stand, grand, feet on no land
No perpendicular cast
No trail from my past
No horizon setting before my eyes
The switch to that place had vanished
Replaced now by theatrical planets
Act of emotion tug and push like magnets
I looked inside for my soul
It’s response...I feel the universe whole
Felt every rain drop
Every inch of growing crop
Her exhale of wind in the wilderness
all it’s birth joy happiness blissfulness
compassion love care hope determination
change reform resilience revolution
jealousy envy emptiness melancholy
sadness loneliness frustration sully
madness hatred discomfort pain and death
