Waiting For You
Never did I
entertain such a dark
outcome in the pursuit
of my dream with you.
I held you so dear,
my trust in you so deep
harbored such high regard
and I watched you part
screamed inside
had to let you decide
felt tied, chained
by the word that I knew
and my eyes wouldn't,
yet couldn't turn away.
I could have killed him
with my bare hands
but couldn't let defeat
enter my dream, now
my sorrow so complete.
And I wait,
like a breath of fresh air
inside the recess
of your mind, and I wait
Like a spring scented air
that blows softly
inside your heart,
for the day, long awaited
of your return.
