Waiting For the Sun
Waiting For The Sun
There is a fire in me that is too much for this world
Smoldering deep in the roots of my soul
Flames budding, their blossoms longing to unfurl
Up xylem, down phloem, reciprocal control
Failure means you tried
Would rather you had died not knowing?
Successes can be found
When you stop, stare at the ground
And suddenly you've found
By new heights
You're still growing
Eventually the spring will come
Thawing frosts the winter spun
Always darkest before the dawn
Ever waiting for the sun
So count your rings, and stand up straight
Brace yourself against the wind
Hold you glow and embrace the wait
For your time to shine again
In the darkness is where you find the light
In the silence you can lift the sound to life
And every time I find it, it gets brighter
And every time I lift it, it gets lighter
Why can't you be a lover, and a fighter
Jack of all trades, master of none
