waiting for the grab
death hunter appeared on the back of a flying skeleton
the first thing I noticed was his hooked beak and dead eyes
they were both straight from the bowels of the underworld
neither spoke, yet there was some kind of animation
they circled around my bed, I felt here to claim me
I waited for the grab I knew was coming
anticipating being snared and dragged into the never world
the terror I felt cannot be described in any language
I was a goner, resigned to my fate, feeling vulnerable and alone
Nothing could save me; they were scarier than the grim reaper
the death hunter put up a bony finger in warning, and they circled again
I shuddered, closed my eyes, and waited for the grab.
