Waiting For Nothing

As life rolls across this endless road of time,
The heart of it all stays the same.
Beating for the next moment,
Waiting for the next laugh.

Days go by, months do too
Ricocheting across the cranium for years.
So many have passed already.

As your words echo,
It leaves me unable to comprehend
Why?
I didn't understand sooner.
Why?
Did I go into the wilderness
and not only lose myself
But everyone who knew me.
The REAL me.

As a conclusion dances across my fingertips,
I just,
wanted you to know..,
That I hope you're doing well in this life,
And my love for you never did go.
