Waiting For Cake

nine small girls who walked in line
waited for a piece of cake sublime.
the guest of honor took her time
bringing them each a chunk to dine

the girls were patient their upbringing fine
they chanted stories, all told in rhyme
they were all clean, there was no brime
Guest of honor was not named Madeline
