Waiting By the Window

Some say That this little girl live the perfect way They say She don't have no trouble no worries But they don't know what happens Behind close doors How she feels so alone How both her parents was on drugs Momma got clean and Daddy didn't care He left them there Said he had to go get more He promised he was coming back She waited by the window for him for Days, Months, Years He was gone So now she's 16 She moved on But some days She can't help but Wait by the window....

This is just an incredible write here, Breana!! The addict/alcoholic has no idea the damage they do to their families even to the point of passing addiction on genetically for some of us. This powerful write here is definitely a winner and Michael's contest was a great way for us to express our pain. Congratulations on your writing being selected!!

I can see why you responded to my "Father?" I'm 60 and occasionally these issues come back. My Dad was marreid 3 times & I have 2 brothers & a sister younger than me. Having to be the adult like you must have too so young will make you a much more capable person sooner. You are going to make it Breena. You are a special person as all your verses show. Happy Holy Days Debbie Guzzi

Tragic... so many children's lives are spoiled by parental indifference. A most poignant piece. Best wishes, Keith

This is so sad...If only there was a magic pill to take, and make all the pain go away...Drugs destroy so many lives...God is the answer, He can heal...pray for His blessing , and pray for everyone that has become a victim to drugs to realize they need help. Jesus Christ died on a cross long ago for our sins, and all we have to do is believe, and ask for forgiveness...continue to pray, He will hear your prayers....this is such a sad write, it breaks my heart,...always, Christy
