Waiting

Waiting in line, stepping to the window
I receive the application I need
A list of questions now that is no shock
But immediately I am in a dismay

It was the bottom one that I found peculiar
It was simple to understand yet made me query
Check here if single, or check here if taken
Now that put me on the spot

For If I check single
I will sound almost desperate
If I check taken
I would be lying to the world

I pondered for a moment
Then after thinking for quite a time
I write down beside both the single and taken
"Waiting" and proudly hand them the paper

Very astute piece. I would not have thought to say that. Thanks for commenting-A
