Waiting

Bone worn from the busywork of waiting Rough worry's riptide sweeps away solace Exhaustion engulfing like ceaseless lakes Tasting mineral qualms of silent lakes Off the precipice of doubt I hang, waiting Distracted by notes on statistical solace Resuscitating hope, my one solace Blood numbers float under hours of lakes Through wet paper walls tear sharp winds, waiting The weight of waiting drowns my solace in nebulous lakes 2/14/19 For Tritina contest Sponsor: Charles Messina

Michelle, there are so many favorite parts in this poem for me. "Off the precipice of doubt I hang," and the last line especially. A well-built tritina my friend! And not easy. I know.
