Wait Here, I Will Be Right Back

Wait here, I’ll be right back. That’s what my mum said that day. I nodded with a pop up smile, squeezing the empty energy drink can in my hands. It was almost 2 hours gone. The weather was changing, felt rain dripping on my short hair. I was glued to my sit, refusing to get any shade, because I didn’t want her to come back and not find me. But she never did. I sat there, wiping off the tears that dropped slightly on my face. Hoping she was stuck in traffic. “Maybe she missed her way, trying to find me.” I said to myself. I Ran out of counts. I was shivering, my eyes became blurry, couldn’t see through my glasses anymore. I waited! I really did wait. I’m 28, and I’m still waiting. She never came back. That’s all humans do, they lie. They lie about making you happy, They lie about forever. They make promises, let you believe it and leave just when you’re vulnerable enough not live without them. There’s no eternal for love because even humanity isn’t. Emotions are just maths. Different methods to same answers. Lies!

The realization that mother was not coming back must have been devastating, Tonye. I hope that since then you have healed somewhat, and found someone who would make you happy in life. Remember that there are good people around, too. ~ Regards // paul

Very sad, Tonye. There are very few people who do not lie. Maybe some just tell "little white lies" but a lie is a lie.
