**wait

People try and rush me
 They don’t seem to comprehend
I want a love that lasts forever
Not just a one-night stand

It’s not that I don’t like you
It’s just not the right time
I want to know you’re the one for me
Before I can truly make you mine

You think you are “The One”
You could be, I don’t know
But give me some time
To see how our love can grow

It’s so easy to do
Getting caught up in the moment
Yet, so hard to say no
When you don’t know if you want it

You say you like me
But how can you really know
Do you want me for me
Or for how far I’m willing to go?

It’s so simple to be influenced
By what other people do
But once we go that far
Would you say our love is through?

Some say I’m inexperienced
Good, I want to be
I’d like to save my first time
For the guy that’s right for me

So next time we’re together
Stop and take the time to think
Just sit and hold me close to you
Don’t try and push me to the brink

What is love anyway?
I’m not really sure
Until I find that certain someone
To myself I will stay pure

To some this may be funny
Something only a child might say
They think you’re not really “grown”
Until you’ve gone all the way

So when you pressure me
And claim I’m immature
Just look at who’s making fun
Of my effort to stay pure
