Wait
The funeral is over
you can hear a baby cry.
The soil is your new home,
Only God knows why...
Will you wait for me at Heaven's gate?
Tell the Lord you have to wait.
Let me fly with you on angel's wings,
Hearing "Gloria!" as they sing.
Months roll by and then a year.
No one to call, no one near.
You cradle yourself, and say:
Will you wait for me at Heaven's gate? Beg dear God to save my place.
Will you stay with me, in my heart?
To tell me your there when I'm falling apart.
Breaking away from a quiet place, hearing her calling you name.
You run and jump. I'll run and jump. I'll climb the tallest mountain, to the tallest
peak, to see you up in Heaven,
and tell you not to wait...
