Vulnerable Who

She appeared vulnerable
When a professional assignment
Brought two complete strangers together
Sharing with an unknown
All about herself
A ‘failed’ marriage, an ‘abusive’ husband
She ‘sitting’ beside him,
While he was behind the wheel,
‘Stood’ exposed
But wait
Was her story a carefully guarded secret?
No! As per her own admission
The world knew about it
But not the fellow by her side
Who did not take long to prop her sagging spirits
Empathising with all she had gone through
‘Ride’ taken
She got down, flashed a smile and vanished
Now, he appeared vulnerable.
