Volcano
Craters, silently sleep.
Land and People all at it's mercy
milleniums of years rising
suddenly hissing
Days of loud snoring
it's belly turning and churning
Gases rising from it's indigestion
as it liquifies the earth
It's relief spreads wide
to our misfortune
a mega explosion
as the crater finally throws up
exploding spew releases lava.
Fire balls directed at unknowing targets
it's ulcer has erupted
reshaping the land,
diminishing air quality
wiping out civilizations
creating new species
building earth where there was none
It's quiet.........
all that is left is it's chaotic
stance.
Devastation a reminder of it's presence.
For now,
It, sleeps again.
