Voids
A void.
Dark, cold and endless.
Nothing and everything.
A concept children can’t grasp
We would never understand something like that
We were young
We were children
A void.
It exists while we make our youth last
The memories we share along the way
Learning and growing, with fun of course
Why did we ask to grow up
We had everything
We were children
A void.
There, watching as you step into that highschool
A different experience
We are older now, more mature
Right?
We thought we were ready to be an adult
We were children
A void.
It feeds off of your growth, waiting
As you say i do, looking into their eyes
You wonder where time went
You weren’t a kid
You were an adult
That wished you were young
A void.
It's time to see it.
Scary as it is, big, but small
And as the day of your demise
seeks the warmth from your short youth
The void takes you
And you feel full of youth again
we wished we were children
