Voices of the Future

if we are the voices of the future
why are we being silenced like the guns used to shoot up our schools
every...
single...
day...

we are calling out to you
because we are terrified..

we are scared that we will be the next ones

the next ones who are sitting with a gun to our heads with shaky fingers behind the trigger

the next ones who will hit national news for yet another school shooting
the survivors will call for help
once more
praying that someone might hear their horrid sobs

the next ones to be hushed by the second amendment

this is why we are pleading for your help...

we are dying...

can't you hear our crying?
