Voices
You said that I'd changed
And you know you're right
But you're the one that changed me
Losing hope I didn't even fight
Years ago I would have stood strong
Defending myself to the bitter end
But arguing with the voices in your head
It's something I can't comprehend
For no matter how or what I say
The voices have already won
Beyond the point of seeing reason
Already the damage is done
Your mind creates a delusion
The voices say it's true
Knowing I can't compete with them
I simply don't argue
You see that as I don't care
But it's quite the opposite
Devoted only to just one man
It's to you that I commit
I wish the voices would go away
I'm sure that you do too
Feeling like a third wheel
It's the voices, me and you.
