Voiceless

Sulamani P. Dukuly: I wake up every morning seeing things going wrong I want to speak but I am voiceless I always wish to help and put Mama Liberia first but yet am still voiceless I lived in a country where citizens are disenchanted daily but can't speak because they are voiceless. I grew up in a place of so many problems and I can't say anything, all because am voiceless Netus: When I get up, I meet the same story, The same story from 1847 For all our leaders have been the same 6 or 7 Embezzling taxpayers money. I took a tour in the streets and I saw corrupt people; They are being rewarded with positions, Giving them more privileges in my nation, They obtain more room for corruptions Still, I am voiceless. Sulamani P. Dukuly: I was given birth by a country That deprived the right of every citizen to speak of their well being I am in a country that corrupts the minds of the youths And makes them feel hopeless I came from a country where poor people or people with disability are unheard I came up in a place where people can see the truth and turn it into lies, Netus: To maintain power, they bring more lies They don't care to know the implications During the election period, they stir division Putting scars on our dear mama Liberia They damage citizens more than malaria. Our skins itch and we go on to cry for a messiah. Sulamani P. Dukuly: I am in a place where politicians fight and kill people but still ruling us, only because we are voiceless Our parents suffering in the hands of the wicked ones But can't say a word, all because they are voiceless We want to help, we want to talk and we want to make a change But yet our voices are unheard. Netus: When I walk through my education system And many officials were making no difference; I taught it is a place to learn But they are using it to get more earns, No way to rectify, for their ears are deaf; They live with dead conscience. Sulamani P. Dukuly: One day, one day, one fine day, our voices will be heard to the highest level And that can only be achieved if we stand together and put our differences aside despite our religions We need to fight for our beautiful nation One day we won't be voiceless. Netus: We have become more voiceless Because of them, our ideas are valueless; My country's officials are reckless Exhibiting more carelessness, After the wrongs, they return to their bird nest Awaiting to see the chance that comes next. Still, we hope for the best.

Those that rule over us are often greedy and pretentious. To serve us could be their greatest honor and God would smile when each returns to Him, to hear “well done” but instead they turn their backs and mock until their demise which arrives sooner than they expect.
