Voice

I had a vision in the dark
Burned so hard it left it's mark
"Follow me into hell and back,
if you don't, your life will never come back."
Said a voice

I closed my eyes and what I saw
Left me confused, left me in awe
Saw the darkness and I saw the fire
Then I was gripped and brought higher
By the voice

When we made it back I thought
How I had been brought
Back from hell, back from the brink
Made me confused, made me think
About the voice

We went to hell and back again
It did not matter when
He had showed me struggle and strife
Showed me more terrible things existed than my life
The voice taught

My vision was ending, I spoke fast
But my chance to ask had past
I left my vision and fell back to sleep
My life would stay, I would always keep
The voice near
