Visitors At My Door

Will they return to me someday, Even though I had cast them aside? Will I greet them at my doorway, After the years I could not abide? Without faith in my mind, And no hope in my heart, Nothing of charity for mankind, And my love torn apart. Will they return to me someday, If I ask them with sincerity ? Will these visitors return to my doorway? Now that I have more clarity. I must surrender to my faith, Believe with all my heart in hope, Give charity a new birth, Then love will help me cope. God will tend to my soul just as before, When the visitors return to my door; Because I invite them to stay and dine. And we will feast on possibilities, And drink of salvation’s new wine.
