Victory of the Vanquished

Sangfroid vacuum,
Striking terror in craven hearts,
An eerie quiet portentous of ominous,
Sudden resplendent flash of blades,
And blood gore in flood,
Exploding shots in blinding blaze,
Cries,shouts and grief,
Dead and half so,
There was gain,
Behind all the pain,
One side fled,
After they were entirely bled,
A patch of land,
Was perhaps gained,
Some wrong was done right,
Behind all this strife,
One chieftain derided other,
Rode on popular wave,
Till the time came,
For those who had fled,
To return back and rave,
The same way all over,
Till they had the land or right,
Circle was vicious,
Vanquished were victorious,
And feeling damn glorious.
