Victorious Rose

Victorious Rose

Looking across the expansive field
I observe many beautiful flowers
Seeing the blooms and their yield
I watched and stared for hours

So many, so beautifully made
Impossible to choose the best
Each unique, how do I grade?
What separates one from the rest?

Suddenly the sky is dark and cold
Then came the wind and the rain
The flowers began to whip and fold
Their beauty now impossible to sustain

The ground is ripped and torn
The petals were now scattered
The colors no longer adorn
Image no longer mattered

As the scene becomes serene
And mud and flower flows
Remaining alone and pristine
The Victorious Rose!
