We need to thank them all, but especially the Vietnam Vets as we did them such an injustice.

Yes, we did. I saw a Vietnam vet yesterday at the VAMC who was in awful shape. I felt so sorry for him. He seemed to be alone, but there was nothing I could do to help him. When I got away from the nurse's station, he was gone, so I'm supposing someone came and got him. Actually, I thought he was dying.

When I see those vets with big banners begging on the street, it really affects me; I'm not sure if they're real vets, but they certainly deserve more help.

I don't know who you are seeing, Lasaad, but I would be careful about contributing to street beggars who are claiming they are vets. Most vets I know would never do that!

We should never forget the sacrifices they make on our behalf. But more needs to be done for those who don't show external battle scars, we've had many take their own lives in the UK because they couldn't cope with the horrors that they witnessed. Tom

True, Tom. It is so sad. I was at the VA Medical Center (I'm a vet) and I took special notice of the men and women waiting to be seen. Some of them were in terrible shape. My problems are nothing compared to some I saw today. Thank you for your kind thoughts.
