Victim

I am a victim of my
own self convictions
Driven by relentless ambition

Always concealing
my despondency
Trained to be
imperturbable

My unremitting efforts
throw me into chaos
A madness caused
only for self perfection

However there is such beauty
in imperfections
Faults and flaws
are unique and exquisite
Unaccompanied by imitation

Time to unmask who I am
and who I have been
For it must be removed
to expose the truth

Removing the facade
like a fictitious ocean
In the dessert
Only then true happiness
will replenish this once lost soul.

Hi Sofia, I enjoyed the positive message within this write. When I was young girl I too was a victim of my own self convictions as well."Perfection" is all around us(a superficial perfection). It's on tv in magazines and etc. But it doesn't exist. I loved the line that there's beauty in our imperfections and flaws. When I got this truth I became free. Free to be me, imperfections and all. Do I have bad days? Yes, but that's part of life. But I choose to be my #1 fan and cheerleader.
