Victim
Silence inflexible
I am inexorable
For how else can forgiveness be
If I explain
I could bridge the gulf here worthily
Of unshed tears for me
But how thin that line
Where Adam's complain gave her the cross
he should have borne
I cannot die with her again
For I surrendered to my cross
Am already dead to her
I bear this not as a loss
But as an unutterable pain
Carrying their guilt upon me like a stain
Is what forgiveness demands
I shall have no glory
If I will they will have joy
Dismantling what's left of me
I am unperturbed
But unconsolable
Is the silence
That guards this Adam's penitence
