Vermillion Autumn Couplets

Crunching through woodland the senses revive
From fresh pine to birdsong the soul feels alive.

Squirrels make haste to stack winter supplies
As amber-winged swallows soar up to the skies.

With persimmon sunsets the sky is suffused
And trees boast their bronze, gold and fiery-red hues.

The full harvest moon beams a warm orange glow
And winks at the smiling plump pumpkins below.

Even Matisse with his palette so bold
Would gaze on in awe to watch autumn unfold.
