Vera the Mermaid
Vera The Mermaid
___________________________
I just met someone so sweet,
she's like summer lemonade
but she arrives from the salty sea
Vera, the mermaid.
She has many stories of adventures,
each with such great fun
and I listen to them soundly
as we're sitting in the sun.
She happily flicks her emerald tail
against the crashing waves
and speaks another story well
for my ears to crave.
I take in every word I hear,
for she had given me her time
and I hold each one dear
because they are divine.
But now she must be going,
and I truly understand
I see him waiting on her
her loving, strong "Merman".
I thanked her for her visit,
and for her stories told so well
and hope to see her another day
when the winds blow against my sail.
