VENUE OF VULTURES
full-bodied wings cling to turkey vultures
venturing across my path
headed for no man’s land

*A group of vultures can be called a committee, kettle,
wake, and as in my title a “venue.” I was driving on a
backroad and was forced to stop and was delighted
to see such a sight. Although later, I pondered where
they were headed and why.
** in this case, I define “no man’s land” as undesirable.
