Venturing Into a New Day
Good morning Mrs. Cobb,
Get ready, as I turn this door knob.
A new adventure will start this day,
For our students are on their way.
I see you've moved Andrew's desk,
I wonder what he'll think of next.
He's such a cute and creative fellow,
I can't believe he colored the wall yellow.
Putting him there is a very good choice,
Maybe he'll work harder to lower his voice.
We have a nice class this year,
Tomorrow, it's suppose to rain, I hear.
I can't believe how nice the playground looks,
Or remember when I've seen so many new books.
This year we have much to be thankful for,
I can tell, we'll need lots of chips for our jar.
Did you hear on the news that gas prices are going down?
Now we can go on field trips out-of-town.
Hey, look! We get to visit Mr. Mayo class today,
Have you noticed how the kids listens to what he says?
I'm glad Mr. Tucker is back with us this year,
With his program schedule in a wonderful high gear.
I like the way this year is coming along,
With such a good start, we can't go wrong.
And to think, this year you're planning to retire,
Well, I understand and respect your desire.
This place won't be the same without you,
Next year, I don't know what I'll do.
I know you have a long list of wonderful things to do,
As the year unfolds, may it be THE GREATEST for you.
