veni, vidi, amavi

i carry the quiet wonder
of the way you are—
how light bends through you,
dust rises like it knows its place.

there is a falling here
that still lifts,
a gentle art in your doing,
and the world softens where you move.

i am grateful for this,
for the way it stays between us,
folded in lines and silence,
never needing more than what it is.
