I hate canned spinach ;it was only one I knew as a child. Now I eat it in salads with lettuce too. Thanks for reading.

Thanks, SO. Many years ago I came up with 300 of them traveling 15 hours in a car. I think all those old ones have been posted earlier in my poetry pages.

Andrea, such great word play. It reminds me of one of my favorite poets, Dora Malech. Word play is hard to do, but you did it in this accomplished poem.

Brilliant! You get a FAV! Very much enjoyed, with lamb or as a main course. Veggies good enough for the big, strong horse.

Good ones, Andrea. My husband had been the one doing the planting and harvesting for the last 7 years so I will not have those vegetables this year. He always liked to grow beets plus carrots and radishes which he stopped planting radishes a long time ago because we did not eat them. If this one is for a contest, it reads like a good contender to me. Way to go. Sara K

Thanks, Sara. I have never gardened. Just not for me. Especially I would not be growing radishes or beets! Watermelons and lettuce would be more my thing! Oh and potatoes and corn
