Vanishing Dreams

A disenchanted lover paints joy with a frugal brush. For hidden in the shadows, love eludes understanding. Smiles can't camouflage the fears accompanying spilled tears. And navigating blindly, trust pursues fantasy dreams. In a cocoon of sadness, hope starts to metamorphose. And wishes, spin silken threads into a dream catcher's web. Seemingly caught in mid-flight, dreams arrive on broken wings. And yet, rejuvenate hearts, transforming them from within. Love’s now free to ride the wind to the heart of each flower. And sip the nectar of truth stealthily concealed within. (Blank Verse) 2/17/2016

This is nicely built, Emile. This butterfly has given dreams wings, making it possible for them to come true and thus disperse disenchantment. // paul

There is a lot of depth to the metaphors you incorporate here. Dreams so often caught in mid flight arriving on broken wings ... wow. Hasty in our decisions to grab it too soon, it shatters ... but maybe one can take the broken pieces and make a mosaic as compensation. Loved the abstractness, and the way this poem took me places. Thanks.
