Notes About The Poem

Vanished Verse

She appears with a poetic tinge but then melts into air
Her perfume like a burst of fragrance but then melts into air.

My dream was not effortless since I left the letters I kissed.
The endeared serves as the impetus but then melts into air.

O letter that enlightened me that she was real heartbeat?
And the pulse of the heart's rhythm responds but then melts into air.

My darling poet, can you have even a mustard seed's worth?
Without no more partner in her heart, but then melts into air.

I have tried a few ghazals and know how difficult it is. I doubt I'll ever write another. You did very well.

I liked your poem, Lasaad, especially the refrain that is so ethereal, "but then melts into air." Thanks for writing and sharing this.

Hi Lasaad, You penned a deep verse that makes one think. The repeated line “ but then melts into the air” made a good poem more impactful. Have a great day and a Happy Easter:-) Alexis

Hi Alexis, I'm so glad you liked this poem, and thank you so much for your kind words; this is actually ghazal form that must have a repeated refrain. Have a blessed day and Happy Easter.
