Vanessa Long after sleep has captured your body And dreams, like butterflies, float above your head I sneak into your bedroom, rest my head on your pillow To inhale the sweet fragrance The aroma that is YOU! You smell of fall wind which tangles your braids. Tangy orange and lime still lingers on your breath. The nape of your neck- I think "new-born puppies" And your hands are vanilla like your favorite soap. That scent- so complex, so unique yet so yours captivates my senses and encodes in my brain. You talk in your sleep and all of a sudden I get a rare glimpse Inside one of your dreams.
