Valuable

When I believe I have my heart set,
Or jump in too fast I fool myself instead,
Time is of the essence but I must breathe it in slowly,
Because if I don't I sometimes can't see what I'm doing,
There have been people in my life who have come and gone,
Yet I have valued each one even when it seemed wrong,
They were my lessons, they taught me in life,
They were my glimpses between wrong and right,
They were part an asset for me to see,
For the future they helped to mold how I choose to be.

Would delete the "the's", "it's" and "is's" if it were my poem, (simple revisions, but worthwhile). But what do i know? Regards, Bob

Thank you for the grammar pointers :) I'm much more focused on the feeling and meaning behind what I write but those little details do make a difference at times
