Valerie's Destiny
I see it when I look up every night
Then I count the blinks, I'm not sure why
It might be some kind of code
Sent to me from long ago
I can't make it out, but I still try
I gave it the name Destiny
Because that's what it means to me
I bet it rests while I'm working
Then comes alive when I'm looking
Brilliant flashes of pure white, blink
I made a wish just before sunrise
This Heavenly gift for your surprise
I know you will really love it
Wrapped with a bow in blue velvet
I can hardly wait to see your eyes
Your birthday will come soon, Valerie
Until that day, I'll just wait and see
Your star from the vast cosmos
Will make fantastic photos
My first daughter, holding Destiny
