Valentine Mine

Be mine, the poet wrote in the note on Valentine's Day. But what does that mean, she asked after reading his written words. Mine is a thing belonging to the writer, an abundant source of poetry; a bomb that explodes when disturbed spewing forth the emotions of love. Do I disturb you, the poet asks. You are an explosion waiting to happen, she says, and I have been plundered too much to be your your Valentine mine. For: Be Mine Poetry Contest Sponsor: Regina McIntosh December 30, 2021
