Valentine

The stores are crowded today.
The flowers are on back order;
The candy is flying off the shelves.
Trying to decide what to get that will
suffice the occasion.
Yet the day comes to an end the flowers
wither and die. The candy gone and
sentiments have already been spoken.
Tomorrow we go on with our lives forgetting
to be kind to one another unwilling to forgive
the little things like socks on the floor dirty
cup on table.
Who thinks about making LOVE an everyday
celebration for expressing love does not require
price tags or fancy gifts ; it takes real effort
and if any gift were I to receive of any true significance
I'd much rather not display my real sentiments for
public spectacle but to know and feel that I
am much loved in my private dwellings.

Lovely thought during this time of commercially manufactured love.
